The Academy for Integrative Breath Therapy

The Academy for Integrative Breath Therapy was founded in 2018 by Gerdi Schulte and Maria Faust. Since then the Academy offers a comprehensive holistic training for breath and body work consisting of eight modules per year over a period of three years. The training conveys far-reaching processes of self-awareness and personal development through approved methods of humanistic psychology and body work such as inner child therapy, Voice Dialogue, THE WORK, EFT, Cold and Warm Water Training and Tension and Trauma Releasing Exercises.

These methods are supported by the teaching of the conscious connected breathing and other breathing techniques. During the training courses the participants gain theoretical and practical knowledge about breathing as a key to self-perception and the integration of feelings and traumas.

In supporting the trainee in his*her own personal development Gerdi Schulte and Maria Faust educate him*her towards teaching the used techniques to others and giving therapy sessions on their own: After the training of three years the participant is able to work as a Breath and Consciousness Trainer.

In order to gain the certification, the practical study of the given techniques and exercising the work with the consciously connected breath in peer groups is necessary. To that every trainee gives a talk about one out of three given topics, writes a thesis about his*her own development history and attends a practical final test in giving a session in Integrative Breath Therapy.

Furthermore, the alumnis have the possibility to participate in offerings of supervision, to deepen their experience in working integratively with one’s own feelings and to gain the needed knowledge to become a Registered German Naturopath.
