An Adempro breath coach possesses thorough knowledge of and extensive experience with the entire spectrum of breathwork. You understand the anatomical and physiological functioning of breath, as well as its interaction with the nervous system, trauma, emotional experience, and the body’s self-healing capacity.
Based on your own experience, you realize how working with breath can have an immense impact on the whole person, including the spiritual level. You can apply the versatility of breathing—whether it is a connected breath session, a technical breathing exercise, or a breath relaxation exercise—to the specific needs and requests of each client.
We believe it is important that you have a solid theoretical foundation in breathing, so that you truly know what you are doing. We therefore delve extensively into the anatomy, physiology, psychology, and experience of breathing, as well as the interconnectedness of all these facets.
If you wish to use breathing therapeutically, knowledge and experience of the entire spectrum of breathing techniques and interventions are necessary. A connected breathing session is not always the first, or most appropriate, choice of intervention. Therefore, in addition to various conscious connected breathing techniques, we also devote ample attention to other applications of breathing and breathing exercises. Coaching skills, such as constellations, are also covered to provide structure to the breathwork.
To properly understand the various aspects of breathing and to be able to work with them, actual, embodied knowledge is required. We therefore devote a great deal of time and attention to practical exercises and guidance in your personal development process.
The one-year training to become a conscious connected breathing coach consists of 20 training days, spread over 9 monthly weekends, including intervening online peer supervision sessions and five individual mentoring sessions consisting of breathing sessions and supervision. A selection of topics covered during the first year:

Development of personal breath awareness and a functional breathing pattern
Anatomy, physiology, and neurology of both dysfunctional and healthy breathing
The functioning of breathing on different levels (physical, mental, emotional, spiritual)
Analyzing and working with (observation of) breathing patterns
Learning to apply various connected breathing techniques (e.g., vivation, hot and cold water sessions, rebirthing)
Applying related breathing techniques (e.g., pranayama, Buteyko, coherent breathing)
Use of pressure points, postures, and affirmations in breathing sessions
Understanding the neurophysiological and psychological functioning of various breathing techniques
Coaching skills (e.g., constellations work)
Using breathing therapeutically for physical complaints, emotion regulation, and existential questions
