
Melissa Thom BRAVA
Melissa Thom (FRSA) is the Founder and Principal Coach at BRAVA, specialising in breathwork-led voice and communication training for actors and corporate leaders. An accredited Advanced Breathwork Practitioner, she integrates performance psychology, physiology and vocal pedagogy to help clients unlock confident and expressive voices under pressure.
Originally trained as an actor and presenter, Melissa began her career as a radio host before moving into senior communications roles within digital agencies and start-ups, including two years in California.
She is a regular industry speaker, teaching at Bristol Old Vic Theatre School, LIPA and the Royal Society of Arts. She hosts the HIGH NOTES podcast and serves as a judge for the SOVAS Awards and the ARIAS. A Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts, she is a member of VASTA, a Women in Games Ambassador and a full member of BAFTA.
She trained in acting at the Bristol Old Vic Theatre School and the American Conservatory Theatre. She holds an MSc with distinction in Marketing Communications, a distinction in Vocal Pedagogy, and is a certified Public Speaking Coach. She is also a certified Yoga Nidra practitioner.
With a Mauritian mother, she is proud of her Indo-African roots and committed to empowering confident, embodied voices in the workplace and beyond.
