Bio

Amy Kuretsky (she/her) is a licensed acupuncturist with the Minnesota Board of Medical Practice, nationally board certified in Chinese herbal medicine through NCBAHM, and nationally board certified in Health Coaching through NBHWC. She co-founded Constellation Acupuncture & Healing Arts in 2017 in Minneapolis, MN - on ancestral Dakota and Anishinaabe land - where she provides inclusive, trauma-informed care for people seeking support and healing.

Her practice is rooted in East Asian medicine and blends gentle acupuncture techniques with cupping and Chinese herbal medicine. She also brings her background in complementary therapies such as breathwork, tarot, and sound healing to the treatment room. She specializes in supporting people with trauma histories, gut-brain digestive and emotional imbalances, hormonal changes including peri-menopause, and stress-related symptoms like anxiety, headaches, and insomnia.

Amy’s approach is shaped by her multi-year mentorship with Alaine Duncan, author of The Tao of Trauma, and training as a Tao of Trauma practitioner. Her clinical work is also informed by years of study in breathwork, Reiki, Pranic Healing, tarot and sound healing. She completed all four levels of the Breathwork Healer Training with David Elliott in 2018, later co-founding Breathwork for the People, a collective of former students organizing for anti-oppression and trauma-informed education in the field. She later also completed the Breathwork Liberation Society training and is now a co-facilitator of that work and a member of the Global Professional Breathwork Alliance. She is a Level 2 Reiki practitioner, trained by Tanya Boigenzahn of Devanadi Yoga, has studied Pranic Healing with Dr. Jason Calva, learned tarot from Jeff Hinshaw of Brooklyn Fools and Lindsay Mack of Wild Soul Tarot, and completed a sound healer training at Soul Body Finesse.

Alongside her clinical practice, Amy spent over a decade supporting solo business owners in aligning their health with their creative work through coaching other small business owners. She understands firsthand that our physical, emotional, and business health are deeply intertwined - and that tending to our bodies and breath can also nourish our businesses and creative pursuits. She continues to care for many artists, entrepreneurs, and visionaries who seek care that honors the full spectrum of their humanity.

Amy believes that healing is not linear - it’s spiralic. It’s human to fall apart and rebuild. It’s necessary to rest, repair, and listen deeply. Her treatment room is a space where patients are encouraged to show up exactly as they are - messy, brilliant, grieving, hopeful. She sees healing as a human right and believes each of us is inherently worthy of love, care, and support.

Her work is influenced by the writings of adrienne maree brown, and she believes that small individual actions - like a breath, a choice, a single acupuncture needle - can ripple outward to spark collective healing. She also recognizes that systemic oppression creates trauma that must be named and dismantled, and that those with power and privilege have a responsibility in this process.

Along with her one-on-one patient care in the clinic, Amy continues to facilitate group breathwork regularly in the Twin Cities and at our classroom space.

When she’s not holding space for healing, Amy is most likely knitting something cozy, walking in the woods with her partner and pup, lifting heavy shit at the gym, or brainstorming new ways to center rest, breath, and care in community.
