Currently, Dr. Litchfield serves as the President of the Professional School of Behavioral Health Sciences , where he oversees diploma and certificate programs that integrate physiological and behavioral sciences for innovative healthcare applications. He is also the CEO of Better Physiology, Ltd. , where he has developed the CapnoTrainer, an advanced tool for identifying and correcting dysfunctional breathing habits. In addition, he serves as aneditor for Breathing Science , a digital peer-reviewed journal.

His academic career includes a tenure as Assistant and Associate Professor of Psychology at California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo , where he taught from 1970 to 1981. Dr. Litchfield has founded and led several institutions, including the Proseminar Institute, the Applied Psychophysiology Institute, and the Behavioral Physiology Institutes, all of which have made significant strides in the fields of psychophysiology and behavioral medicine.
