GPBA School or Program Membership
It is the role of the GPBA to distinguish schools and programs within the field of Breathwork who have shown to uphold the highest of standards. By becoming a GPBA Certified Professional Breathwork School or Ethically Compliant Breathwork Program, you are signaling to the Breathwork community as a substantiated training program through compliance of our Ethical & Training Standards.
Additionally, graduates of GPBA Certified Professional Breathwork Schools are automatically eligible for GPBA Practitioner Certification.
Schools and programs also receive special benefits, including access to a growing international community of exceptional Breathwork practitioners and schools.

Minimum Requirements
GPBA membership requirements differ depending on the type of membership and certification. Visit the Training Standards and Ethical Standards for all requirements.
GPBA Certified Professional Breathwork School
- 400 hrs / 2 yrs of Breathwork training, including 8 hours of Ethics training
- One fully graduated class
- Supervision and client work
- Comprehensive units of learning
- Adherence to GPBA Code of Ethics
- Applicant must be a GPBA Certified Breathwork Practitioner
GPBA Ethically Compliant Breathwork Program
- 50 hrs / 9 months of Breathwork training
- 8 hrs of Ethics training
- Offered at least 18 months prior to application
- Adherence to GPBA Code of Ethics
- Applicant must be a GPBA Certified Breathwork Practitioner
- Endorsement from a licensed psychotherapist or counselor OR a GPBA Certified Professional Breathwork Practitioner who is a Director of a GPBA Certified Breathwork School
Applying for GPBA Membership
If your training program or school meets the 400 hr/2 yr training requirement…
you may apply for GPBA Certified Professional Breathwork School certification and membership.
Annual fee: varies, dependent on size of school
- $150 for small schools, less than 25 students a year
- $250 for mid-size schools, 25-100 students a year
- $400 for larger schools, 100+ students a year
Application fee: $50
